About me

Hello, I'm Teri.

I'm an integrative counsellor based in Newtownabbey, Co. Antrim — a mum to two daughters, a lover of nature, and someone who truly believes in the power of being heard.

Counsellor at Feeling Being Therapy

How counselling found me

Counselling didn't start as a career choice for me — it found me. I was living with the weight of generational trauma and PTSD, and it was through my own healing journey that I discovered just how transformative it is to have a safe, compassionate space to be yourself.

That experience is at the heart of everything I do. I know what it feels like to carry things that are hard to name, and I know how much it matters to feel truly seen. I am neurodivergent affirming and work in a way that honours each person's unique way of experiencing the world.

I am also an inner child therapist — I believe that so much of what we carry as adults has its roots in earlier experiences, and that gently reconnecting with those younger parts of ourselves can be profoundly healing.

Outside of the therapy room, you'll find me outdoors whenever I can be — I have a deep love of nature and animals, and that connection to the living world very much informs the warmth and groundedness I bring to my practice.

My integrative approach

Integrative counselling means I don't follow a single fixed method. Instead, I draw on several evidence-based approaches and weave them together in a way that's tailored to you.

Person-centred therapy

At the heart of my practice is a deep respect for you as the expert on your own life. I offer unconditional positive regard, empathy, and genuine presence.

Inner child therapy

Many of the patterns we carry as adults have their roots in earlier experiences. Inner child work offers a gentle way to reconnect with and heal those younger parts of ourselves.

Trauma-informed practice

Drawing on my own lived experience of trauma, I work in a way that is always sensitive to the impact of past experiences — moving at a pace that feels safe for you.

Neurodivergent affirming

I am committed to creating a space that is fully affirming of neurodivergent identities. I adapt my approach to honour each person's unique way of thinking, feeling, and being in the world.
